Recently, thrift stores all across America are seeing a pronounced increase of sellers wanting to sell unwanted items from their homes. Some thrift stores are even overwhelmed with donations, and it's all thanks to Marie Kondo, organizational consultant.
With the launch of Netflix's show "Tiding Up With Marie Kondo," viewers are decluttering their homes through the special KonMari method, which says you should declutter based off of category, not room -- this means emptying out your closets of clothes, piling everything together, and, finally, questioning the joy each item brings.
As Kondo says, "My criterion for deciding to keep an item is that we should feel a thrill of joy when we touch it." If you want your work and your life to be more organized, controlled, and full of joy, check out what Kondo has to say below.
1. "Visible mess helps distract us from the true source of the disorder."
