Intention can be seen as bit of an abstract concept. Despite its importance, we rarely talk about the important trait, the creative driving force behind our relationships and dreams. In reality, everything that exists in the universe was a result of intention.
An intention is simply the beginning of a plan, the small inklings of a desire you can't really explain. If grown correctly, however, intention can turn into a strong, burgeoning desire and, subsequently, a beautifully strong will.
How, then, does one go about channeling the power of intention? Read on to find out.
1. Remove focus from the results
In a world that practices such goal-oriented happiness, it can be very difficult to discover what the beginning threads of happiness even feel like. Try this mental exercise of readjusting your emphasis from the results of your possible desire to the desire itself. That way, instead of growing overwhelmed by the millions of possibilities that could occur, you simply set your sights on deciding what you do or don't want.
2. Leave the small things up to fate
It can be tempting to obsess over the small details. How will I get from Plan A to Plan B? How will all these people along the way feel? The trick to successfully developing your intention is to forget all these questions because, at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. What matters is what you want, and how you'll approach what you want. Shift your attention to that instead.
Generally speaking, our brains are always filled with things. We can be thinking in real-time, reflecting on the past, or worrying about something in the future. Sometimes, it's imperative that we cease all this incessant activity in our synapses and breathe, completely clear our minds, and ask, "What do I want this to do for me?" And, when our hearts tell us the answer, we should make sure we listen.
4. Create a concrete goal
The next crucial step to making something real from the power of your intention is turning the desires into action. As small as these goals may be, such as doing research on something or talking to people about your intent, they give meaning to our days. They turn our thoughts into something real--and there's undeniable value in that.
5. Let go
After everything, the most important step of all may be simply letting go. Although it's true that good things don't always just get handed to us on silver platters, it's essential to believe that things do work out as long as you give into the universe what you put into it. Don't waste another second worrying about the good, the bad, or the ugly, what could or couldn't go wrong. Just take some trust, a little bit of pixie dust, and sit back to watch the world unfold before your eyes.
