To be honest, when I think of a gift to give my wife for Valentine's Day, my mind doesn't exactly turn to Chick-fil-A. However, for this Valentine's Day, the fast-food giant is hoping to get your attention with an oddly compelling offer.

To be more specific, participating Chick-fil-A restaurants are currently offering 30-count Chick-fil-A Nuggets, 10-count Chick-n-Minis, or 6-count Chocolate Chunk Cookies -- in a red, heart-shaped aluminum container. According to the company, this special offer will be available through February 28.

Nothing says "I love you" like a tray full of fried chicken. (Actually, I think those Chocolate Chunk Cookies just might do the trick.)

Chick-fil-A suggests that, after you give your sweetheart his or her Valentine's Day surprise, you consider doing four more things to "spread the love:"

Perform a random act of kindness.

One of the best ways to celebrate Valentine's Day is to do something small, and when it's least expected! Whether you pay for your colleague's cup of coffee or slip a note of encouragement in a friend's purse, a little kindness goes a long way.

DIY décor.

Show your little ones some extra love. While they are away at school, cut out different sized hearts from red and pink construction paper. Hang them around their room with clear fishing wire for a sweet surprise when they arrive home.

Surprise someone with breakfast in bed.

Everyone loves staying snuggled up in a cozy bed, especially if they can also enjoy their favorite Chick-fil-A breakfast item. Surprise your sweetheart with a heart-shaped container filled with Chick-n-Minis for a memory that will last forever.

Treat yourself.

Two simple words that can easily be missed when you're showering others with love - treat yourself! Put on your favorite show, take time for some extra pampering with a manicure, or meet a friend at your favorite lunch spot.

If chicken nuggets aren't your thing, don't forget that McDonald's -- in direct competition to Dunkin' Donuts -- will offer its brand-new Donut Sticks at selected restaurants on Valentine's Day. According to McDonald's, "They're sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for a crunchy outside and soft, doughy inside, and served warm to customers."

Kind of reminds me of a churro. I'll have to do a personal taste test to see.

After this brief product introduction, the Donut Sticks will be available nationwide beginning on February 20. Sweets for the sweet, as the old saying goes.

Whichever taste treat you choose, remember that it's the thought that counts. I wonder if my wife would agree.
