Today, job site Indeed.com announced its list of the top-rated workplaces in 2018 -- the best of the best places to work. To create this list, Indeed's data team compiled the results of 72 million ratings and reviews within its company pages, specifically looking at this year's Fortune 500 firms. (Inc. has its own list right here.)
So what is it that makes these companies stand out from the rest? Says Paul Wolfe, Indeed SVP of HR, "Organizations that stood out among top-rated companies have worked hard to listen to the specific needs of their employees to provide an outstanding experience through strategic and thoughtful workplace programs."
In the case of Facebook, No. 1, it was such things as "great environment," "amazing benefits," and "great people." For No. 2, Southwest Airlines, it was "great team collaboration," "many options for advancement," and a "fun and energetic" workplace culture. And for No. 3, Salesforce, it was "a great mix of fast-paced, challenging projects and smart people along with a cool, fun culture."
