Now that spring is in full swing, companies all across the country are recruiting summer interns in earnest. Summer internships are a great way for young adults to get a feel for the workplace or for particular companies, and they're also a great way for companies to get to work with prospective employees. It's a win-win all around.

But what internships to apply for? That question was just made a lot easier with the announcement that The Points Guy -- a website focused on travel news, reviews, and guides to loyalty programs -- is looking for a summer intern. According to the announcement:

"It's not just your same-old summer internship. You'll be working for and alongside us: Miles, Hootie and Swisher. But you probably know us as The Points Pups. You'll spend your summer days working from the TPG office with us, developing our social media following and growing TPG's traveling pet content, all while having the best bosses ever."

To be more specific, duties will include researching first-hand traveling with pets (those three dogs, Miles, Hootie, and Swisher), capturing all the organization's social media content, and posting on The Points Pups' Instagram account. The internship is paid ($20 an hour), located in New York City, and offers a flexible time commitment of 25-40 hours a week.

Interested? Here are the qualifications:

  • Social media savvy with plenty of experience using Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
  • Major photography skills to capture our incredibly good looks (yes, Portrait Mode counts!)
  • A pet lover and dog whisperer
  • Veterinary education experience is a bonus
  • Work out of our Flatiron District office in NYC
  • 18+ years old and able to legally work in the US

Applications are due no later than May 15th. If you or someone you know would like to be considered for the position, I suggest getting that resume in soon.
