As we head into summer, companies left and right are preparing to hire new summer interns. In fact, some companies are already in the thick of recruitment, as internships are a mutually beneficial opportunity for all those involved. One well-known brand has quite the sweet internship coming up this summer, but you'll need to apply soon to be considered.

Mars Wrigley Confectionery -- the world's largest maker of chocolate, chewing gum, mints and fruity confections -- just announced the return of the World's Sweetest Internship, a fully paid, 8-12 week once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The location will be at the company's global headquarters on Goose Island in Chicago.

The company's products are like a who's who of the candy world: M&M's, Snickers, Skittles, Orbit, Dove, 3 Musketeers, and Ethel M. Chocolates, are just a few of the brands.

Key responsibilities for the lucky person chosen for the World's Sweetest Internship include:

  • Lead ideation, planning and execution of smile-spreading activities throughout Chicago

  • Participate in media training and apply skills when advocating with consumers, media and community

  • Work with Mars Wrigley Foundation leadership to share the impact of its local and global programs

  • Collaborate with Confectionery interns in Chicago and our U.S. headquarters in Newark, New Jersey to coordinate Mars Volunteer Program activations

  • Put our Purpose--the ethos that guides everything we do--into action by setting the stage for future expansion of the World's Sweetest Internship program at Mars Wrigley Confectionery offices around the world

  • Travel to Mars Wrigley Confectionery manufacturing sites to understand how the world's most beloved candy brands are made

  • Taste and develop a deep appreciation for confectionery products from around the world

  • Produce a personalized batch of chewing gum and experience mouth-wateringly delicious flavor combinations from our product labs

  • Infuse flavorful fun into social media content development and deployment; capturing this sweet job and our community engagement for consumers and Associates alike

  • Support the global Mars Wrigley Corporate Affairs team on global internal, external and public affairs campaigns, including planning, research, execution and measurement in collaboration with some of the world's leading communications and creative agencies

Did I mention that the position comes with a signing bonus of one year's supply of candy?

Interested in working behind the scenes to "bring the magic of confectionery to life and better moments to consumers?" The internship runs from late May through August 2019, so don't wait to apply. The successful candidate will be selected in early May.

Believe me: An opportunity to be paid to eat candy (and other delectible Mars Wrigley treats) doesn't come around every day.
