Women's Venture Capital Fund is currently on its second fund, which was raised in 2017. Like its first fund, which closed in 2013, this one invests in companies with diverse leadership teams who are ready for their Series A or B financing. The first fund was started by two Harvard Business School classmates, Edith Dorsen and Monica Dodi, with the backing of two institutional investors and a group of Harvard alumni. Dorsen was formerly a McKinsey consultant and investment banker; Dodi was the CEO of an investment and consulting firm for new media companies. The fund's companies include on-demand ride company HopSkipDrive, Collabra, a digital marketing solution for real estate, and wedding retailer Vow to Be Chic.
