Gulf Coast Crating

Over and over, we are asked, “Where does the name XLR8 come from?” If you grew up near Houston during the 80’s and 90’s you probably know the name. XLR8 was a roller coaster in the city’s beloved theme park, AstroWorld. If you have ever been in the trucking business, then you understand the correlation. The industry has its share of ups and downs—much like a roller coaster. XLR8 was founded in January of 2017 by Paul Pitman, who prior to this venture, claimed he would never re-enter the market. However, based on the success of his other company, Gulf Coast Crating (GCC), and the desire to offer customers a more complete product offering, XLR8 Delivery Inc. was born. Today, it has grown from helping GCC deliver crates to servicing a wide-range of clients with a diverse fleet of over 95 trucks. The rest is history.

The founders of our company have always focused on four key visions when it comes to employee career development: Learn as much as possible, grow personally, build a career, and make a positive impact on the people we come in contact with. We believe in bringing empathy into how we work with others and having fun while we’re doing it. To ensure we're always working toward these pillars in our company culture, the executive team is consistently gathering feedback from employees in ways that are both quantitative and qualitative.
