Jackson Healthcare has become integral to Georgia's pandemic response. In April, the governor of Georgia announced a partnership with Jackson Healthcare to place health care workers in cities across the state. Since then, the company has placed more 2,300 health care workers in over 130 hospitals, overflow care facilities, nursing homes, and mobile field hospitals in Georgia. Because of a newly created model for providing staff, Jackson Healthcare has been able to reduce the lead time it needs to have a physician on-the-ground providing care from 60 days to 10 or fewer days.

At the start of the pandemic, New York, like many states, was struggling to find the appropriate response strategy. The state hired Cloudticity to build an AWS cloud solution for organizing its response. The resulting Healthcare DataHub automates data ingestion, allowing the New York State Department of Health to view near-real-time data analytics. As a result, the department is now able to accurately report on risks, intelligently manage equipment inventories and ICU bed capacity, and provide up-to-date insight to effectively drive the response.

In the past 12 months, Kaizen has supported quality education by partnering with school districts to bring high-speed internet to low-income and rural households in San Mateo County, California. The company’s pilot program aims to bridge the digital divide that has left so many without access to the internet. Kaizen chief executive and founder Dao Jensen also serves on the board of the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women, which aims to build women’s confidence with education, mentorship, and coaching.

When the pandemic hit, Responsive Technology contacted all its customers and offered free, secure remote access through its support tools. The company offered a similar service to the chambers of commerce in each market it serves, along with their members, regardless of whether they were customers. In the past year, Responsive Technology raised funds for its local youth mountain bike program, provided free or discounted IT services to nonprofits, and raised more than $10,000 to get kids on bikes.

PamTen is tackling the gender gap in tech with its SheTek project. This global nonprofit organization aims to encourage and empower women to take up careers in the technology industry through training, mentorship, and networking. PamTen also created a nonprofit called SOFKIN in Hyderabad, India, that provides children in need with a nurturing home. Children use SheTek’s resources to develop communication skills and increase their knowledge of business and technology.
