WHY WE THINK WE'RE A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

RealSelf created a winning workplace by bringing on a VP of People whose goal is to give current and future employees the best possible workplace. Lauren Sato joined RealSelf a year ago, not to solve an existing crisis, but to get ahead of scaling the culture as the company prepares for significant growth. RealSelf empowers employees to be their most confident selves, both at work and in their personal lives, through company-sponsored classes, events, and workshops. Mindfulness workshops, career mentoring services, and “Yoga Friday” classes are just a few of the recent events RealSelf employees have taken advantage of. RealSelf fosters a culture of recognition by providing real-time praise and thanks to the co-workers who make coming to the office every day worth it. RealSelf started using a platform tool that allows employees to create and send “praises” to their co-workers, which now happens on a daily basis. Employees are committed to bringing confidence to others, and come together to support company giving efforts, both globally and within our local community. Local giving efforts include back-to-school drives for backpacks, assembling bagged lunches for local shelters, winter coat and glove drives, and support for cancer patients and their families.

pMD

pMD was founded 21 years ago with the mission to reduce medical errors and save patient lives, and has developed a set of products and services to support this mission. pMD’s HIPAA-compliant software arms health care professionals with powerful mobile technology to manage every step of their revenue cycle in one place. Complete with the HD video functionality needed for telemedicine, plus the security and documentation features necessary for a medical practice, pMD drives efficiency and value across their workflow. Problems occur when health care teams are forced to manage a complicated web of disparate solutions to run their practice and communicate with their patients. We believe everything should work in harmony together, which is why we interface with all major electronic medical records, hospital systems, and medical billing systems free of charge. The pMD team is committed to developing the best solutions and providing unparalleled customer service with 24/7 support.

WHY WE THINK WE'RE A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

American Global Logistics's wellness program incorporates a psychological health platform as an innovative wellness practice to increase a healthy and safe environment for the employees. This practice goes hand-in-hand with the culture of AGL's “family-like” business. Employees are rewarded for their hard work and creativity with Employee Appreciation Day, raffles, time off from work, gym memberships, and lunch-and-learn with guest speakers (including physicians, licensed dieticians/nutritionists, fitness trainers, and financial planning specialists). Daily fresh fruit, healthy snacks, protein bars, and vitamin water are provided. Every year, employees are recognized and appreciated with a Wellness Appreciation Massage Day. Professional massage therapists schedule a day and employees are rewarded with massages. Each year, AGL employees compete in a "Biggest Loser" competition. The individual with the highest percentage of weight loss wins a pot of cash. AGL is committed to employee flexibility, allowing employees to manage their time to meet their needs inside as well as outside the office. AGL is a “family-like” business where employees truly respect one another. Senior management has an open-door policy, allowing employees to voice their opinions, concerns, and suggestions about the company.

WHY WE THINK WE'RE A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

Dimagi is a benefit corporation and social enterprise, and we are committed to prioritizing impact, team satisfaction, and profit (in that order) for all business decisions--from the projects we take on to the benefits we offer employees. We take team satisfaction and fostering a healthy and enjoyable culture seriously, and consider it a top priority, from leadership down. We believe that listening to and respecting employee feedback at all levels helps employees feel valued and excited to come to work each day. We offer benefits such as international travel, outstanding health insurance, and competitive retirement benefits. Employees can adjust their schedules to fit their lifestyle. We are committed to not only enabling teams to have the support necessary to create their best work, but also to fostering innovation through cross-team collaboration. Throughout the year, Dimagi hosts team days; teams can bond while competing on obstacle courses, or go off-site to overnight venues for team summits. We also offer employees 10 "personal initiative" days per year, because we believe that all employees should be able to work on projects outside of their normal job duties--to improve their career development, increase their job satisfaction, and improve Dimagi as a company.
