What are the most important life lessons you've learned from your journey as a founder? originally appeared on Quora: the place to gain and share knowledge, empowering people to learn from others and better understand the world.

Answer by George Matus, CEO and Co-founder, Teal Drones, on Quora:

Stay optimistic and resilient. The challenges you face as a founder, especially as a young founder, are unique. When you're building and scaling a business from scratch, literally anything can happen. Between investors and partners and teammates and hardware, there are a lot of moving pieces. It's easy to think 'anything can happen' means 'anything can go wrong,' but you can also think about it from the otherside: 'anything can go right.'

I've learned that no matter how organized you are, things rarely go as planned; it's important to get really comfortable with the inevitable push and pull that is building a business. The important thing is to stay optimistic and also to stay true to your vision (it helps if you really believe in that vision). Hire employees that you feel share your vision and want what's best for the company. These people will keep you driving forward.

Lastly, make time for yourself, and try to find a partner that can go through the crazy journey that is life with you!
