When it comes to creating great product launch videos, you need to find the right mix of informational and humorous content, with a bit (or perhaps more than a bit) of irreverence or taboo tossed into the mix. These viral videos helped to take their featured products and companies to a whole new level of success.

1 - Poo-Pourri

With one of the most irreverent product videos I've come across, Poo-Pourri dropped a serious bomb on their target market with this one. With thousands of 5-star Amazon reviews and roughly 70 million views across their various videos on YouTube alone, I'd say they've knocked it out of the park.

2 - Dollar Shave Club

How do you go about taking on a huge global industry full of stodgy old companies? With humorous eloquence. Mike, the founder of Dollar Shave Club, put together this video on a razor-thin budget of $4,500. With almost 22 million views, that's some seriously sharp marketing.

3 - Squatty Potty

I first saw Squatty Potty on an episode of Shark Tank, and initially didn't think much of it. Then I saw this video on Facebook, laughed my ass off, and went and bought one. It's the sh*t!

4 - Old Spice

Old Spice was far from a new product when this video launched, but it was such a viral hit that it breathed massive new life into a smelly old product. Of course, one video wasn't enough; they went on to make dozens of scintillating videos and racked up over 300 million views on their YouTube channel.

5 - Blendtec

One of the classic examples of viral YouTube videos, the folks at Blendtec whipped the internet into a frenzy by blending insane things like the iPad in the video below. It stands to reason that any blender than can handles rakes, marbles, and Apple products can easily handle whatever food you throw in them in the kitchen.

Bonus Round - Purple

Created by the Harmon Brothers, the same minds behind both the Squatty Potty and the Poo-Pourri videos, this hilarious video for the new mattress company Purple is just starting to tip into viral territory. Judging by the success they've seen thus far, I'd say they got this one just right.

While there are tons of viral videos out there in general, there were surprisingly few examples of viral product launch videos. If you can think of any that deserve a mention, let us know in the comments!
