Whether you travel regularly for your business or just attend the occasional trade show or seminar, use these four tips to make your next trip hassle-free.
- Hide a credit card in your suitcase. This way, in the unlikely event that you lose your wallet or purse, you’ll have a backup. Getting stuck on the road without your credit cards, especially at night, can be disastrous.
- Always get three key cards when you check in. It’s not uncommon to get all the way to your room after check-in, only to find out your key card doesn’t work. Having more than one increases the odds that one of them will work.
- Keep a spare list of contact numbers. If you lose your phone, you’ll have a list of numbers you might need. Be sure to include your credit card company and bank phone numbers, too, just in case you need to reach them.
- Build up your loyalty status with a hotel chain. Even if you travel infrequently, choose a preferred hotel, sign up for its loyalty program, and stay at that chain when you can. You may be surprised at how quickly the points accumulate, and you can cash them in for free rooms, upgrades, free Wi-Fi, and other perks.
