It seems like everyone wants to be more productive in less time. Here are three productivity drains to ditch today.

  1. Letting disapproval or even ridicule stand in your way. Productive people hear the criticism, take the potshots, and stick to measuring themselves and their efforts by their own standards.
  1. Waiting for inspiration. Productive people don’t wait for ideas. They know that big ideas most often come from people who do, not people who dream. Creativity is the result of effort: toiling, striving, refining, testing, and experimenting. The work itself results in inspiration.
  1. Turning down the help you need. Productive people ask for help and understand that doing so is a sign of strength and the key to achieving a lot more.
