When you own a small business, work can seem to take over everything. Now it’s time to rein it in with two key concepts: organize and prioritize.
Block out your day so you know where you’ll be spending your time. Treat the blocks seriously and with a sense of urgency. For example, if your book keeping or staff scheduling work is only supposed to last two hours, don't run over your time and shrug it off. And, in the event that something does run over, adjust other parts of your day so you can get back on track. By staying on schedule, you'll learn to separate your work time from your personal time, and maximize your output in the process.
