Cannabis sales in Colorado is almost a $100 million per month industry.
Colorado's cannabis dispensaries sold more than $270 million worth of marijuana, edibles, and other marijuana products in the first three months of 2016, according to the latest numbers from the Colorado Department of Revenue.
In March 2016, pot shops across the state pulled in $88.9 million in cannabis sales, which is a 30 percent increase from March 2015.
The industry brought in $92 million in February, one of the most profitable months since legal sales started in January 2014, The Denver Post's The Cannabist reported.
In 2014, the state's legal retail stores sold more than $699 million worth of pot. In 2015, the industry brought in a record-shattering $996 million in 2015.
If sales continue on the same trajectory this year, pot sales should top $1 billion by the end of 2016.
